After all the craziness of the wedding, I was glad to be able to relax this week-end. And what better way to do so than by starting a new knitting project! 😉
Eventhough I’m starting a little late, I’m happy to have wound my yarn for the last MClub Mystery Knit Along.
This project is very intriguing. First we’re not using one but seven (!) different skeins and secondly, we’re using three different colours with a gradient gray. If you ask me, this is the start for a very special knit! 🙂
For once, I choose to stick with the instructions and made a yarn cake with the colours in the order intended by Laura Nelkin, the designer.
And I have to say the actual knitting didn’t even start that I already love it that way!
However pretty these yarns are together, the real magic is done when you have to join them.
To do so, Laura had us use the magic knot technique. It’s very simple to do and allows for the yarns to be joined faster than a Russian join would do. Very ingenious!
Now enough said, let’s do some knitting! 🙂
